Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

Different lower horn and upper bout. That might be their new version that gets them around the lawsuit issue.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

Meh. Sorry, not my fav. I'm too crotchety about that, I want a set neck. I just can't abide bolt Les Paul things. The quality looks awesome, though!

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

I'd start collecting cans for spare change if they had an option for an Ibanez AANJ-style neck joint. That with a neck with 1 7/8" width at the nut. I gotta stop daydreaming at that site.

WOW, the 'Velocity' EVH ripoff burns my eyes!

$734 bucks is pretty expensive, but still much cheaper than a Gibson. I kinda like them, just might be my next build.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

I was scavenging through their In Stock Bodies section, when I saw this:

http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?i=LPCP363&Body=2&Path=Body

This is the only one I saw, anybody know if they're gonna start making more?

http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/ClassicShowcase.aspx?&Body=2&Shape=3&Type=5&Ct=180&Path=Body
A total of 3 I found. Not yet available as a custom body option in the "build" section but hopefully coming soon.

Not really. By the time you put everything else that is of quality to finish that guitar, you're getting pretty close up there with a Gibson. And good cases aren't cheap either.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

Close enough for me, but the last thing I need is another build. My warmoths are way more consistent than my Gibbys. Someday when I go on a world tour, I'll only play my warmoths just to piss Gibson off.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

you don't buy a warmoth for the resale value. you buy one for life. I bought mine for the rest of my life, for sure. and don't compare it with the USA gibson, but with the customshop. that's an honest comparison.

also, I'd rather have a supertight bolt on that Gibson's crappy tenon.

But none of these are an issue anymore since I'm building my own les pauls, to a level Gibson would love to be able to do.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

That has the double laminate top which is an expensive option. Add on the rest of the goodies and yes, it would be a little more than a studio, and what's your finished product? You have a killer finish, the neck profile and fret size you want, all the hardware you actually want, and you don't have to cross your fingers that some monkey at Gibson got the neck angle correct.

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

I saw a guy on youtube who ordered neck and body from warmoth and he shows his order and then what he got, they made a couple of mistakes but they did not fix the errors.

I also would love if warmoth would do an AANJ and 24 fret without the floating frets, but they are not interested in that segment of guitar fans at this time, Nor are they interested in doing threaded inserts on the neck.

I have added threaded inserts on both my ibanez and fender and to my ears there is better sustain and a little more brightness. So they are not the custom (we do anything you want) shop but from most of what I hear they do make very nice necks.

I ordered almost 30 warmoth guitars. They made two mistakes in total, over the course of a decade, and each mistake was either fixed or re-embursed. One guy's bad experience always seems to taint the mind of the gross of future buyers whereas all the positive stories can't seem to keep up.

They don't make those, because for a very simple reason: not a fender replacement part. The idea is, still, that a fender neck or body can be paired with a matching Warmoth body or neck. That's why. They're a replacement part company, not a customshop.

You do realise a lot of current Gibby's are back to long Tenon, or that locking one???

Oh, for the old days, when storing dangerously inflammable inlays, lumber species soon to be almost eradicated, and environmentally hazardous paint was still the go!!

Re: Are Warmoth Les Pauls back?

Yes I know that. Yet I can't help it but not like the joint. It's just not a structurally sound joint.

And I don't understand your last remark. How does that work with either gibson or warmoth?

I'm not getting this....how do you accept all the other glued joints in your guitars then....I mean if you don,t trust a glued join then anything other than a 1 piece body or neck is structurally unsound in your book.

The second comment was just based on the fact that you can actually still use all the older materials if you are a small/hobby builder, but not if you're a big company.
