Does anybody know what magnets they use in them? I bought a Duncan Custom a while ago but know I think I prefer the Custom5 sound so I want to switch the magnet and I have this one lying around, not sure what it is though.

Alnico 2,3,4 and 5 all look a like so they are real hard to differentiate from one another
Alnicos are more silver looking and ceramic are close to black. Also Ceramics i have are very light, probably not even half the weight of Alnicos of the same size i have.

Ok thanks, that's useful information. Do you think that A5 would sound good in an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard?

I love the JB in my Jackson KE2 with A5. Which is alder body and maple neck with ebony fingerboard. I don't have much experience with rosewood fingerboard but they are supposed to be warmer sounding woods.
I believe Custom 5 is created by this forum because of frequent A5 swapping recommendations. (Someone correct me if I am mistaken) I believe it will make a great bridge pup for you too.
