Re: Artificial and tapped harmonics
Pinched harmonics, artificial harmonics, whatever...it's all done the same way(s).
I, personally, like to have my fingernail attack the string first and then quickly follow with the pick. Longer nails definetely help.
Other people like the attack with the pick first and follow with the thumb.
It takes some practice, but before you know it, you'll be screaming with the rest of us!

Tapped Harmonic... are natural harmonics... but oh well here it goes.
Fret a note or an arpeggio, whatever floats your boat.
Simply act as the fretted notes are nuts. Now just go on and count out semitones and simply tap the appropriate fret softly.
For example: Fret a standard C chord.
HERE I SHOW TAPPING ABOVE THE OCTAVE OCTAVE, NOTES IN PARENTHESIS ARE TAPPED
e--0------------------------------(12)
b--1-------------------------(13)
g--0--------------------(12)
d--2---------------(14)
a--3----------(15)
e--0-----(12)
NOTICE ALL THE HARMONIC POSSIBLITIES
e--0------------------------------(12)--(5)----------------------
b--1-------------------------(13)-----------(6)------------------
g--0--------------------(12)--------------------(5)--------------
d--2---------------(14)-----------------------------(7)----------
a--3----------(15)--------------------------------------(8)------
e--0-----(12)-----------------------------------------------(5)--
I hope this is making sense...go ahead and PM me if you have any questions.
