Hello ,i just bought a SMB-4D and need advice on wiring it the old PU has 5 wires, red to front volume and twisted ground and white to volume housing grounded,green and yellow twisted together join a white wire to a push pull pot which is third in position on the control plate help needed guessing pot one volume ? pot two tone ? pot three flux inverter lol? Has anyone wired one up yet help please

Any chance of a photograph of the stock controls, please? Is there a clip for a PP3 9v battery amongst them?

Judging by what you have written, the pickup output conductor colour codes translate as follows.
Duncan black to volume pot input
Duncan red and white soldered together and linked to third pot
Duncan green to ground via pot chassis
Duncan bare to ground via pot chassis (but not twisted around green conductor).

Without photographs of your control pots, my best guess is 1st = volume, 2nd = treble roll off tone, 3 = variable coil split.

ok and thanks again for taking the time to help
from pickup old wiring
red to post 2 on num 1 vol middle post
yellow and grn twisted together to white wire in blue inclosed covering to middle 6 post push pull pot facing blue inclosed loom
white grounded on vol pot
and 5th is ground to front vol pot

ok will try again ,,if the grn an yell are twisted together then what two of the duncan should be twisted?
