Attenuator was failing so I repurposed it

Into a Y splitter so I could finally run my fender and Marshall together!
The attenuator was a 25w load dump and I've been abusive to it, running 40w amps into it at full attention, and recently it started to jump in volume so I assumed it was time to retire it.
But what can I do with 3 output jacks next to each other... I know wire them parallel!

No speaker phase or ground loop issues and I'm loving the pair together. Doesn't matter how I set them up they seem to fill out the room so much better. So far I really like to set one totally clean and the other to classic rock crunch. Doesn't matter which one's which sounds great both ways!
This is a game changer!

Even when both amps are clean, goodness there's more texture! I've run amps in stereo before but back then I didn't really have a clue what I was doing.

Anyways if you've never ran a clean/dirty amp setup I highly recommend it. Put an adjustable amount of chime in your crunch. And then walk around the room and listen to the sound change. So fun to listen to and play.

I remember watching the Andertons video where they compared the Orange Micro Dark to the Peavey Piranha, then ran both together; I was shocked. It seems that a "British" amp and an "American" amp combined makes for a great tone; it's the real "special relationship".

Can I get the same effect with a stereo delay pedal? I was going to use my EVH and 6505 MH like this, just havent got around to setting it up

Yeah you can I'm sure it'll be good with stereo delay as well

Great thread. I use Dunlop pedals to cross fade amps and no longer do it live, but the flexibility is enormous.

In my Rush phase, I faded clean, chorus jc120 into plexi50 and the middle was so thick and lush and the opposite ends of spectrum were so easily reached.

At home I'm using my Splawn Street rod for clean and blues and fade into my classic 50 for thick crunch...

In each case, those middle tones are incredible, totally variable and hard to get otherwise.

However modeling makes this easy... With my gp100 and gt10 rigs, the midi pedal was almost always somewhere in the middle of blackface and Plexi...

Beware, this is expensive, habbit forming and makes it really hard to go back to one amp at a time;)
