Are all Gibson Les Paul Classic guitars built with a slim taper neck? Including the different years they were built?

Thanks for any info,
Bob

Unfortunately so. I would really like a Classic GT but I can't deal with the 60s neck.

I am no authority, but I think you can get a LP standard with a 60s neck.
I just saw it in one of the mail order places. I to like the 60s neck

Yes, you can get a new LP Standard with a 60's neck. I have Les Pauls from the 50's, 60's, 70's , 90's, and a 2002 LP Classic. I love the necks on ALL of em. The 2002 Classic neck feels just like my 60's Pauly. It's very comfortable , at least to me. I hear all the time about guys complaining that their 60's neck LP wont stay in tune. I will tell you from experience, that if the guitar is properly setup, and you keep on top of climate changes ( from season to season ), you will have no problems with tuning. If you neglect the setup of ANY Instrument, then you will have tuning problems. :)

The Classic is built based on the 1960 flametop. The 1960 flametop had only one neck design ( slim tappered 60's ). Therefore all the Classics have just the one kind of neck.

I like Gibson's necks no matter what profile they are. I had an old LP Std. that had the 50's round style. It took a few days to get used to the 60's slim taper on the LP Special, but playing fast on it is a breeze and now since I've gotten a new nut, locking studs and locking tuners, the guitar stays in tune!

I'm with you man. I have both 50's and 60's necks on my Gibsons and even some necks somewhere in between the two. I love them all!!
