so i have audacity and have some stuff i recorded to my comp. i know you need the lame thingy to export ur recordings as mp3's, so i downloaded the lame thing, but i cant figure it out. if anyone has tips advice, or a step by step for getting lame, everything from download to export, thatd be great

thats my problem i think, i unzip lame, and it creates a lame folder, with 3 folders in that, how do i get the lame.exe, it has no install option.....

underneath the folder unzipped, we have lame 3.95.1, inside of that we have folders titled ACM, HTML, and MISC. there are also a few icons inside the lame folder (with the 3 others) that are called, about, copying, liscence, readme, todo, usage, and a few others. thanks a bunch mrid, hopefully ican get this to work and have ur dyna comp clip up tonite, but i am not the most computer savy....so what now?

Find the file "lame_enc.dll," go to file->preferences->file format, and point to that file.

thats my problem, when i got to export as mp3, i go unzipped, lame, and than there is just the 3 folders, with nothing in any of them.....when i just gointo the lame folder alone, i hav a lame_enc file, under misc, but no lame_enc.dll.........

I found the same thing and I think it was a foolproof for the Freeware copy of Audacity.

I just export to WAV. and then use Easy CD-DA File Converter to convert to MP3

thanks a bunch, does it matter what folder u convert to when doing the .wav? i can just create a file in my documents for that right? where can i get easy cd-da file converter?

darn, i think lame is out to get me..

i saved it in my lame directory, but than audacity doesnt "see" it, i even tried typing in the file, but that didnt work....i also tried putting it into the lame sub folders, but still no luck

Open "My Computer" and go to Tools->Folder Options and make sure that "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is checked.

it was like that already, re did it and re tried, still zilch, are u really comp savy and making fun of my as u do this cause i dont know anyhting about computers and how they work?

No, of course not! Try this: Put the lame_enc.dll file on your desktop. Then, point Audacity to your desktop.
