Audio taper pot for tone?

Can i use a 500k audio taper pot for my tone instead of a linear pot? watch the vid and see what you think

Type of the pot only defines how it works. There are couple different ones and usually Audio(logaritmic) and Linear pots are used in guitars

ah so the audio taper has a slower sweep than the linear so its safe to use then.

Audio(log) taper is indicated with the yellow line and it has and increasing rate.

the rule as I understand it
is linear for volume
audio for tone
when in doubt both audio

Audio for vol. Linear for tone.

It dosen;t matter to me. If an audio isnt available I just use a linear for vol. or vice versa...

CTS, or Gibson pots perfered, IMO.

No

It's personal preference. I don't use a lot of gain, just up to a crunchy OD and I like linear vol and audio tones on my LPs, also wired '50s style.
