FS/FT - A great playing, sounding, versatile but streamlined, partscaster that was expertly assembled by local ubertech Rob DiStefano. I put this together as kind of my take on the old EVH Frankenstein.
The body has a few dings, but nothing major. The tape around the side of the bridge pickup is worn back a little bit. Rob told me that the way the neck fit with the body required him to raise the saddles on the TremKing higher than usual to set the guitar up as I requested. I tried to show both the pickup issue and the saddle issue in the closeup picture below. The way the saddles are setup looks a little odd, but seems to contribute to great playability and smooth travel with the trem.
I am selling this because I'm making a serious push to upgrade my amp, cab and pedal board setup and I have a bunch of guitars including another partscaster that Rob assembled for me that is very similar to this one.
$275 shipped to the lower 48 in a cheap gig bag. $300 shipped in a mint Musicians Gear Hardshell case. Trade for an El Cap + cash, Scumback/Scumnico Speakers, or a loaded 2x12. I put the trade value a bit higher than the asking price.
I'm pretty scarce around here-- I lurk and read mostly. FWIW I have a ton of good trades on other forums like TGP, HC, Reranch, the MTS forum and elsewhere (also on recording gear forums) as kojdogg and I have 100% feedback on ebay as koj-dogg (please note the hyphen) if you'd like to contact me there. My selling feedback includes sales of music gear including a recording compressor/limiter that went for >$1,000.
- It has an Allparts SMO-C neck that I got from SD'er/HC'er strangegrey that I truoiled and Rob applied a light coat of wipe on poly to. The feel of the neck is amazing.
- Rob cut a bone nut for this guitar and it is set up beautifully for 9's.
- The pickups are a Seymour Duncan F-Spaced Custom Custom (also from strangegrey) and a Seymour Duncan stacked strat pickup in the neck (I forget the exact model number-- sorry!) that I got along with the HS pickguard from a TGP'er. A new CTS 500K pot was wired in at the time of assembly.
- The body is a GFS Cardinal Red Paulownia that is lightweight and highly resonant-- great for tone and great for your back on long gigs and jam sessions.
- The trem is a TremKing TK-1-- my favorite trem ever.
- The tuners are Sperzel Locking tuners
