Re: B-52 Cabs! Whats the scoop?
I play a 6505+ through a Ear Candy Cabs BuzzBomb 2x12 with Emi Govs, he plays a Marshall MG100H through the B-52 cab. He turns the bass all all the way down, treb about 10 o clock or noon?, and has the mid all the way. He uses the contour knob as the overall adjustment, he sets it at 9 o clock. I remember all this because it took him such a long time to get a decent tone out of that mess!
There is still a good amount of bass coming through, as I remember it's ported or vented at the bottom behind the cab. He plans on upgrading to a 6505 as well and I can only imagine it would sound better!
I see you have a Windsor head, it may sound decent with the B-52. From what I hear Windsors are bright and not a lot of low? Might work. If you do get the b-52 make sure it's not the old one with the brass logo and the huge metal grill. The ones made for the B-52 AT-100 head are decent, and upgrade the speakers!
If I were you, I would save up for a Ear Candy 2x12. They are custom, they are louder than most 4x12s, and come in a smaller, more transportable package. You get what you pay for IMO.
