B52 Solid State Drug Induced Demo

I shouldn't record when I'm running a 101 dgree fever and pumped full of benadryl..excuse the goofiness

Anyhoo...this is the B52 Solid state head. I ran the line out to the power amp of the rivera Chubster. Speaker in the chubster is a Celestion 70/80.

It's kinda long..but I wanted to mess with everything as I hadn't in awhile...first is Marshall type stuff, then Scoopy Metal, then err...maybe more marshall stuff? then the clean channel...then my firebird through the scoopy channel using the contour to make it sound more like a Marshall (previous to the bird is the Faded Std).

There's some clipping and weird noise at times, and well...you'll hear the hilarity of me trying to do this...:laugh2.. my playing is all over the place too...but you'll get the idea of the amps sound I hope.

Anyhoo..for the $ this is a good amp...those looking at Crate and Marshall SS stuff should really check it out...the 100 watt head was $299. I think the half stack combo is like $550, IMO sounds much better than the MGs or Crates.

Yup says so right above channel 2..

it's a great selling point for the youngsters

haha that was dmg inc, there was some crazy woofing from the bass. Hope it doesnt actually sound like that. The other chan sounds pretty good. Nice playing too.

no that woof is just my crappy laptop mic...no woof on the amp/speaker itself...

Yup, Damage inc..I know a few things from Metallica or did at one time...now just bits and pieces..

next time I'll record MOP "sober" gawd did I flub that...:laugh2:

Wow. Great sounds and great playing.

Particularly enjoyed the marshall sound.
The scooped stuff was pretty good too.

The woof is NOT in the amp..that's just me being whacked out on benadryl and not being able to get the mic level correct

it's actually very tight through the Rivera's celestion.

The last minute or so is the Firebird (actually what I think recorded and sounded best)..the rest is the faded LP std.

Versatile?...hmmm....If you only want a Marshall and Scoopy $hit channels, yes

Clean channel with some chorus on it would be OK. sterile otherwise.

It's a entry level price point Hard Rock/Metal head. It does Distortion, and does it pretty darn well for the price. But thats about it. Def better than the Crate and Marshall stuff.

Apparently they (all B52 amps) are made for GC/MF by Ampeg.
