Babicz FCH Bridges?

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

You can just use the tailpiece you already have if it is a replacement , but I like that it says Babicz and most people will mention it or say something about the word and mispronounce it. Someone called it a baby see zee

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

great concept, for sure.

but they're so huge and elephant-like. And the logo is ugly and obnoxiously large. maybe if they used smaller cams it wouldn't look so large.

It doesn't feel bulky at all. It is a super comfortable bridge. I think if you played one you would like it.

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

I tried one on a strat bridges but there was a very slight angle using the saddle parts due to the way the holes were drilled in the bridge plate.
So off they came and the original bridge saddles when back on.

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

I have Babicz bridge #3 going on my black Tele and #4 for for my new Strat project is in the mail. Suffice to say I am sold on these bridges.

Dang you are catching up to me man ? Got to get one for my Vox SDC 22 now !

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

That's a heck of a design...functionally gorgeous. That guy really has a lot of thought into his design.

As far as the aesthetics go, I don't find it objectionable at all.

Yeah, if you don't like the huge logo on the tail piece of the tom, just use a standard tailpiece and just buy the bridge.

The biggest objection is the price. Holy cow!! Nearly $200...4 times what I currently pay.

If you check around Ebay you can find them NIB for good prices. Babicz is also announcing a Z Series at Summer NAMM that will have a lower price point.

I love these bridges. I am more than impressed with the Stratocaster replacements. At this stage of the game I don't think I would play a Telecaster without a Babicz on it.

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

Made $100 on the 4th that's almost a bridge for the Vox Securb! PITA but it has wraparound on it now so will need a fill and drill. Still can't figure out if it is a swimming pool route til I change the strings( 3 mini hum ooooh!) I would go with the higher end bridge Mutt , I never trust anything that is made to be cheaper ! Jeff will have a sale this summer unless it just ended , he does that often.

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

I have only done one 2 point Strat install and it is wonderful , I have not played it since the strings were broken in so I don't have a great opinion on how well it stays in tune.I have only heard good things about it from the owner and the luthier he took it to for a refret. Someone around here has a 6 point trem on one I am sure too.I know Securb is a big fan of them too , he is putting one on the tmrzoo.com build now.

Re: Babicz FCH Bridges?

Am I the only one who finds these things ridiculously ugly while at the same time being awed by the simplicity and elegance of the functional design?

I'm with you.

It's a great concept. I'd try one out. It's chock full of features.

It's just not great looking... to me.

Plus the name reminds me of those businesses that add a "Z" to their name to be cool or hip. Granted, it's the guys name, it just reminds me of that. It's a peeve of mine-- replacing an "s" with a "z" at the end of a word.

Damn kids. Ba-humbug.

I will throw my endorsement out there; I have used the Tele model and it was a nice bridge. They are easy to intonate, set the string height, and best of all lock into position. If I got another Tele, that would be the first upgrade I would do.
