nothing lol...
i nearly left with the Charvel EVH art series black and yellow #721 since i was given a great price on it. however i couldn't bring myself to dump that much cash on a damn one hum/one knob strat with a floyd. the neck on it was killer though, real fast and fit my hand like a glove! great guitar overall but not for that much!
also nearly bought an amazing looking blue quilt top BC Rich mockingbird with a white duncan JB/59 set that i kept drooling over but the price was about $300 more than the amount i brought with me so i ditched that idea since the seller wouldn't go low enough on the price for me to consider it. sweet guitar though.
so, after looking at 100's of guitars i decided to have my friend/luthier Cris Mirabella make me a custom guitar and we went over some ideas and specs at the show and it will be finalized later this week and the building will start....i'm psyched!!
while i wait for that i think i'm going to clone the EVH charvel out of warmoth parts for about 1/4 the cost lol....anyone have any color ideas for it (solid color)?
also got to see Scott (wattage) and Dave (bludave) which is always a great time BSing about guitars!! watching Scott drool over a sweet Gretsch and Zemaitis as i was at the same booth drooling over the EVH Charvel was funny.....Scott, buy the Zemaitis buy the Zemaitis!!
well overall the show was pretty good, some nice guitars and tons of acoustics and jazz box's that i had no personal intrest in but some amazing guitars overall.
so i left with nothing in my hands
but i did leave with a new custom guitar that will be started soon and plans for a warmoth project so i guess it was worth the trip
