I'm not sure if it gets any better than this. Sweet, clean, punchy. I think this is what an electric guitar is suppose to sound like.

The Champagne Sparkle is just icing on the cake.

I had a Godin semi hollow with a 59 set that sounded fantastic, too.

Yeah, the 59 set doesn't really have to hide behind any crazy marketing gimmicks like a lot of the other pickups on the market these days.

I put a set of 59s in a Yamaha Aes620.. I always go back to that guitar because the pickups sound so good and balance well together.

First time I tried the 59s I thought they should have been the factory pickups of all Gibsons.

Seths don't have the round bass that 59s have. Seths are also slightly 'honkier' and are more touch-sensitive as they aren't wax potted.

Both are nice, low output pickups. '59 is more scooped - sounds more acoustic to my ears, especially on the neck (neck also can be bassy if you adjust it too close to the strings). I thought the bridge needed judicious use of the tone control sometimes, it can get quite bright. The Seth works slightly better for barely broken up / overdriven sounds to my ears.

they are a great set of pups for sure. i have a zebra set in a washburn (think sg) and they sound fantastic, and a few neck models in other things. i have another bridge model but that guitar is waiting on a fretjob will wont happen for a year

I like the Seths more than the 59s, but it isn't night and day. The Seths are more dynamic though, and they don't have the solid bass like the 59s.

FWIW, I like the '59 better in the neck. I like the Seth better in the bridge. But if you try to match a '59 neck with a Seth bridge you have to back the neck waaaay off because the '59s are higher output.

That would be no-go match for me. I wouldn't want to lose any of the character of the 59 neck, (my fav of the set), to balance with a Seth. I'd rather just do a Seth set.
