Back with a jazzy jam

Well, almost three weeks off the board... damn work! :)

A lot happened in the meantime, I sold my SD pups (don't kill me, I'll buy new ones for my next guitar).

So this is Rid's Jazzy Jam backtrack on which I give a shot at the DMZ Fred in the neck position... surprisingly good, in my opinion. I did not buy this pup for that kind of music, yet I'm impressed by the tone.

Here :

Jazzy Jam

And it's almost clean work...

I'll try to come back more often from now on.

Enjoy! :)

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Well, thanks a lot guys...

Wow Derek Trucks, man, I like this guy a lot! This is too much xerxes :)

It's a DiMarzio Fred, created for Joe Satriani who use it exclusively in the bridge position. It's like a Paf Pro with balls (more mids). I really like it in the neck position. Very tight pup.

Cheers!

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

I really liked it! Now that your back, make sure to check out the clips that WayneGtrWebDude (or whatever his name is) posted ... they're mega sweet!

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Thanks TO & Rid...

I'll check that for sure TO... I have a LOT of catch up to do now :)

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Oh, I don't know if you heard my clips 'Ballad No1' and 'Rock No7' (very original titles!! lol :D :D )

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

I'll check that in the next few days... I'll post comments... you know I'm a fan of yours anyway ;)

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

That sounds awesome man

You always get great tones especially on your neck pups, and the playing is nice and melodic on this piece

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Thanks nuntius. This guitar has a great tone, and any good pup sound great in it. I really like A5 pups for their tighter low-end sound.

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Sweet. Nice smooth chops with cool melodies. That pickup is fat and bright at the same time. Good job Sly! :)

Yeah, it's basically a Paf Pro with beefed up mids and tighter bottom end, so it retains the brightness of the Paf Pro but with more balls. I really like it in the neck position, but it's too bright for my taste in the bridge position. Thus the Super D. Tha's a nasty, fat SOB :D

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

I liked the whole vibe of the thing. I dig moody stuff like this. kinda laid back with some snap here and there. nice :beerchug:

Re: Back with a jazzy jam

Thanks man! Interestingly, I can't seem to get the first few bars of this solo off my head... I may use it and turn it into a song.
