Backup Amplifier backfire

If your current hard-earned amplifier became MIA for whatever the reason, would you be able to persevere with a sufficient backup backline already existing or would you be SCREWED!

I'm thinkin' of the guys with botique or homemade custom amp designs that are pricey and sound unique but would now be required to move on with a choice they could indefinitely live with.

Let's now pray this never happens. :fingersx:

Re: Backup Amplifier backfire

I have a Marshall 900 which I a/B with a Fender Super Reverb. And I just bought a Bogner Shiva today!!. I will anticipate that the Bogner will become my go to amp, but I have been playing thru the Marshall and the Super for a long time. If the Bogner were to "go away" I don't know if I would miss it yet. I've had it for hours. That being said I think a good guitar player can get a good sound out of anything if they have too.

Re: Backup Amplifier backfire

To clarify, What if someone could get a distinguished 'angel' tone, for example, from their amp. They are known for this and if they were to play, it would be instantly recognizable. They could really only get the 'angel' tone thru a certain amp because it has more to do with modified circuitry than simple eq-ing. The audience expects this tone--would you be able to achieve this tone with another amp or would choas erupt.
