so today i was messing around and i wondered
"how am i gonna make my single knob 5 watt more flexible?"
the answer? front end it with my solid state! My 140 watt crate has "line out" outputs on the back so i ran one to the valve jr's input. Now i just play on the crate's clean channel and can control my EQ and DSP effects while still retaining tube warmth and breakup (i control overdrive using the tube amp's volume and the SS's clean volume)
this seems like a pretty nifty trick, but i dont want to continue if there are some concerns. I can always get an EQ pedal
i guess my SS has become one giant pedal!
