Bad Trader Alert

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Well I still haven't received anything from Lucid_Lunatic. Not sure what the big deal is for sending a $10 payment is. Now this is apparently the 4th time the payment got lost or stolen (from his postmaster) since this ordeal has occurred. I'm sorry but I don't buy it that he would have this kind of problem with the post office this often. How would he even pay his bills if someone is tampering with his mail? I am getting the feeling this was all a nice story but for $10 it is a bit pathetic.

That sucks, man. I agree that, while $10 isn't a lot of money, a man should keep his word. I'd be equally pissed off.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

I'll try this again and try to keep my cool.

You've came on here and in a round about way, cxalled me a liar. This pisses me off, especially when I have the postal monye order receipt right here in front of me. I'll take it you've made an honest mistake in your counting when you say its been sent and lost 4 times. I have kept you updated with the money order numbers and pretty much everything I could do. I told you a couple of days ago I would have the money order checked at the P.O. and I pmed you to let you know it had not been cashed and that I would send another. I sent you another PM letting you know I spaced on sending it yesterday and I would send it sometime this week.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Is someone's word more important than $10? I bought an item from a member that shall for now remain nameless. Paid for the item on the 27th of October. The item arrived but there was no cables included. PM'ed them and they responded about making it right by sending $10 to compensate for the missing cables. They claimed to have sent the payment on Nov 20th. Well I waited and waited and still no money. Then supposedly he mailed out an additional payment on the 2nd or 3rd of December. Still nothing. I know this is a lot of *****ing over $10, but seriously if they mailed it out on the 3rd even, it won't take a week to get from Alabama to Florida. Even more impossible is 2 letters to get "lost in the mail". Thoughts?

To me the $10 is kind of insignificant but if someone gives me their word and they don't deliver or are giving some song and dance story, I will probably never trust them ever. That's just the way I am.

Did lucid tell you there were no cables? I gotta say man, having dealt with him several times and never having one single problem, your claiming he is screwing you over for $10 sounds a little wack.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Scottish his add mentioned it came with the cables and he told me via PM that in fact they did (albeit not all of the power cables but some of them (Dunlop charges $30 for a new full set, I know as I bought them already). I received the Dunlop Brick and it was just the Brick inside the box and no cables. The $10 is not that important as it has taken a life all it's own with this crazy situation with his post office supposedly losing the payment or stealing it. I don't know who to believe but after 4 attempts and nothing it is a bit sketchy.

No actually, I said in the ad I "thought" I might be able to find a couple of the old cables, but wasn't sure. I couldn't and you pitched a fit so I said I would just give you 10 bucks back. After sending cash I sent a money order, which I have proof of. I've already kept all of my "theories" in PM's because I didn't have proof, but I'm working on it.

No I did not send another money order today either, didn't even cross my mind until now, but with the way things have gone and me already sending $30 out on a $40 purchase, how's about I drive down and give it to you personally. I have never seen the ocean and Florida aint too far.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

kjrocks
Last Friday, 1-23-09, I bought a Boss chorus pedal from him. I Pay Pal'd the money at the time I agreed to it. He told me he would pack it and ship it Monday, 1-25-09. I haven't seen it yet. I have tried to pm him, but no response. I know he is not a bad guy, and I hate to post this.
I am just hoping that maybe someone else knows how to get in touch with him. As soon as I hear something, I will gladly delete this post.

How long are you thinking this package should take to arrive?

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Got my payment from Lucid_Lunatic (Josh). After all the *****ing I've done, I'm glad for closure. Thanks Josh.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Until I get proven wrong, I would recommend treading lightly with Curt. We agreed to trade my Hot Rails bridge for his Alt-8 last Thursday (4/9/09). He received my pickup on Monday (4/13) and I was informed Tuesday that the Hot Rails would be coming back.

EDIT 5/8/09: It took almost a month, but Curt came through with a nearly mint Alt-8 in perfect working order. I don't know or care what happened in the mean time, but we're all square now.

I bought $800 worth of nerve pills from a guy here on the forum. Since I have sent payment, I have not received my pills and his account has been banned and all his threads deleted by mods saying "spam".

In hindsight, I'm a dumbass.......................... :friday:

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Well I guess I should thank my lucky stars I probably averted a bad deal so I guess it would still apply to mention it here.

I had a trade deal set up with N_Schon (he has 54 posts so I normally know better than to blindly trust someone so new) for his EMG set for a Jazz/CC set.

He contacted me via PM and wanted additional information while I asked literally nothing about his set (based on they were just removed from a new or fairly new Schecter guitar).

He then told me the next day to call him (for whatever reason???) and I did and he had a bad connection and it was frustrating talking to him with phone cutting out and whatnot and I never got any reason why I was calling him in which we could have taken care of the details over in PM or email. I then send pics of the pickups for him to decide which 59 he wanted:

I then even offered an alternative Jazz neck pickup since the 59s were all long legged baseplates and was concerned it may not fit his guitar so I gave him that option:

Then He decided he would want the Jazz/CC since the 59's prob wouldn't fit and I was cool with that. Then said he wouldn't be able to ship them out until later this week since he worked for Guitar Center as a repair tech and was "very busy" and doesn't spend much time online. I was ok with that but wanted his address so I could get his pickups packaged for him and once he told me he was going to send out the EMGs I would do the same.

Well 2 or 3 days go by, and then I reminded him via PM, email and in his thread I wanted a heads up from him. A day goes by and nothing.

Then today he emails and answers the thread he sold them to someone else and that he sent 2 emails to me. The only email I receive from him was 10 minutes before he posted the response in his own thread this morning.

I have to say I think I avoided a total scam situation. Just wanted to share this with you all.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Unfortunately, I had to take down my initial good report about Mark Cearlock. I have recently done a trade with him where I traded my Epiphone V with DD/Jazz for his Squire Tele Custom with CC/PGn +$100.
Initially the guitar seemed fine. However, after cranking the amp a little I noticed a very annoying loud buzz from both pickups. Additionally, the rhythm neck volume pot was scratchy and uneven - 10 on the pot was quieter than 7 - 8. The tone control on the bridge pickup was also very uneven and occasionally cuts out. Then, the rhythm pickup stopped working.......
I took the strings off to look at the wiring and was pretty amazed at the shoddy job that had been done. You can see in the pics what I'm talking about. Some of the wiring was also stripped of insulation. The ground wire was also loose. The big shock was when I looked at the bridge pickup. It was covered in electrical insulation tape so I thought maybe it had been repaired or modded. Then I looked at the sticker - TB-14; you can see from the message that I had been promised a Custom Custom.......
Not happy at all. So now I am stuck with a guitar that has a different pickup than what I was told and that will also require repair that will probably run me in excess of $50 (there is no way I am going to touch the rats maze of a wiring job).

Very unhappy with the deal. Caveat emptor and all that...........

Original message from Mark Cearlock concerning this trade was:

"Would you consider a blond squier tele custom with a pearly gates n and custom custom, cts, switchcraft, electrosocket, orange drops, and 75 bucks for it?
Very good shape"

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Is it perhaps a TB-14 with an Alnico II magnet? Very common thing to do around here man.

And shoddy wiring is something I usually write off as pure noobery that I can fix to my liking, but yeah, better when things are disclosed before hand.
