Bad Trader Alert

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Sour grapes bluesbend.

To me a bad trader is defined in the very first post of this thread: "If you've been ripped off or misled in a trade, post it here!" Neither of which happened.

He didn't steal your money and he didn't send you something not as described. As a matter of fact, there was no trade & no sale so to me he's not a bad trader. I would deal with him before I deal with you simply because he has a better attitude. Time to grow up.

Well to others a bad trader can be someone who agrees upon a price with someone ie. it's reserved as they made the deal first, and then reneges on the deal with no explanation.

I'd be dealing with bluesbend any day of the week over "pantywaste" as he knows the value of ones word.

BTW you're telling him to grow up when he is 51 years old :smack:

Re: Bad Trader Alert

I had an argeed upon price with this pantywaste. I left the computer to work splitting wood, when I came back to the forum I get a message saying the p'up is gone. No reson given. It then pm's me saying that it sold it right away because it hadn't heard from me in 12 hours. Bullsh!t!

This dweeb said the p'up was lying around for two years, but it can't have the common courtisy to wait 8 hours for my response.
I have no respect for this pinhead.

a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.......you snooze you lose.....he's not a bad trader...you sould delete your thread.

Well when he PMs me suggesting I meet him out behind the back of his barn so we can duke it out, I think that growing up is the correct call. Last time I heard that request I was in high school. Not exactly what one would expect from a 51yo. Then again, maybe he is a huge High School Musical fan. :banghead:

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Skeyescraper on E-BAy. Not only a rip off artist, but an insulting jerk to boot. I don't think I've ever had a more insulting Email sent to me than the one this seller sent when I asked a simple question. God forbid a buyer wanting to know something.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

gpenguins has not pm'd me back a few times about the Floyd I wanted to buy. He seemed really cool about it at first, but then I ask him if he still had it since it's been awhile, and no response. I really want to buy it from him, but he doesn't pm me back.

you're pegging gpenguins as a bad trader because he won't answer your pms about something you want to buy from him?

Re: Bad Trader Alert

I've read last couple of pages of this thread expecting to read some horrible stories, but thank God there was none.

As far as I went back reading, I've found no malicious trading reported, just some misunderstandings.
The worst case was one guy waiting 5 weeks for the pickups to arrive with his guitar opened.

Wouldn't say that it was felony or a hoax, but it's definitely 'lacking responsibility' behavior from the seller.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

I've never traded here, but I think the best thing we can do is not trade with anybody below 3 star ratings. The more active they are, the more they will want to be nice and comply.

Well, you get stars from increasing your post count. And posts in the trading section don't add to your total. There's plenty of decent guys that have repeatedly come back here almost exclusively to buy and sell stuff so I think the current system (everyone diligently reporting good and bad transactions on the appropriate thread) is working pretty well. Not to mention that if we enforced a rule like that then we'd probably just get a load of guys spamming the place up with useless posts just so they could use this section.

EDIT: Of course, it's up to you who you deal with. If you choose not to trust someone because they're not an active member then no one will think any less of you. Although, the only thing I've ever heard here that was definitely dodgy involved a long-standing member who was very active and had a high postcount so you can't always be sure.

Re: Bad Trader Alert

I recently had a deal not work out 100% with beandip.
He seems to be a fairly senior member with a lot of friends and contacts here so it's with some reservation that I add this post. I felt very comfortable with our transaction based on his senior status however.
If I'm out of line please let me know.

What we're talking about here is a $20 String Spacing Ruler that I paid $10 for. Not a huge deal - but a disappointing and frustrating transaction :banghead:

We agreed on a cost+shipping for some used StewMac tools (5-6 tools total), I sent the cash (Jan 4), received all but one of the tools a few days later (Jan 10). I emailed Dustin about the tool in question to see if he'd forgotten it (Jan 12). He replied and said he'd look for it and send it if he found it (Jan 12)
I also double checked the original shipping box and packing material to see if I had missed it which wasn't the case.

Since the 12th I've emailed and PM'd him five times for updates etc. with no reply. I wasn't rude or pushy in my messages, but did ask for an update.
I checked his SDUG forum profile a few times and he has logged on the forum during this time. Previous email messages I received from him were also stamped 'Sent from my iPhone' so I'm fairly confident my email messages were received. There were no issues when we were negotiating prices using this same email address.

I've basically written this transaction off. He's been around and knows what people expect. Delays, mistakes, etc. happen but keeping the other party in the loop is also a big part of any transaction.

I know people get busy, and maybe that's what happened here.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I finally did get an email explaining the situation. The missing tool was shipped out and received today (1/28/11)

Re: Bad Trader Alert

Sold pedals to Kingdom Guitarworks back in Jan/Feb. Haven't heard anything since. He just inquired about purchasing more. When I accessed Paypal for the first time since this last transaction, I notice he has sent a claim and had his payment reversed stating that there was internal damage. I have never been notified and know there was nothing wrong with any of the pedals. Waiting to hear back from him now. Hope this can get resolved!!!!

One of the pedals didn't work properly...may have been damaged during shipping, you know how usps treats packages. I wrote down the sellers email info and sent a bunch of emails... maybe I wrote it down wrong? Who knows...these things happen. I have canceled the paypal case, since we are now in contact with one another, I am sure we can get it worked out. I have had lots of good deals here, and I would like to keep it that way.
