Re: Bad week at work , ends well with New Pedals Day
Its totally legit.
Nothing worse than a pedal or amp that sounds awesome on a yootoob or website demo, and then when you get it home it disappoints. The Belle Epoch sounds EXACTLY like the Catalinbread Demo's. No recording magic or tricks needed.
Re: Bad week at work , ends well with New Pedals Day
I was not blown away by the Heptode demos, but I am spoiled ... Belle Epoch is on my Must Have list, but I am also spoiled w echo units, so there is no urgency there.
Re: Bad week at work , ends well with New Pedals Day
The heptode demos are few and far between, and none are all that good, true. I suspect the price and lack of general knowledge of what its emulating keep it from having more fans/being more popular.
That said, its VERY good at doing what its supposed to, just like the Belle Epoch.
Re: Bad week at work , ends well with New Pedals Day
I have already put the BE over to buffered/trails mode, so I am getting the preamp color, delay or not. Sounds great at unity, but I do want to jack up the gain and hear what it does. Great thing is I can now use my recently acquired Dunlop Echoplex pre for a solo goose, whereas before it was at unity for color.
if you mean putting the boost first coming out of the amp,ive done that with my exotic ep boost and the mooer, but not this one. I generally run guitar>phase>boost>delay>amp.
with all the tinkering I want to do today, I wont have time for a clip
Re: Bad week at work , ends well with New Pedals Day
Yes, drive the input on the BE with the boost. It is designed so it can be pushed like tape. You may not like it, but it sounds really cool (I love it). Are you putting the Maestro before or after the BE? Or is it running through an fx loop?
