band came out with CD

Re: band came out with CD

That sounds abolutely fantastic!! The production on all of that is stellar. I really liked "I Belong To You". That's a really really good song. That chick singing on "You Are King" has a great voice. Congratulations, yall should really be proud of that.

Re: band came out with CD

thanks JOLLY. We're really proud of it all too. We recorded at Rosewood Studios in Tyler, TX. And it all only cost $6,000...mixing, editing, mastering. Really good deal.

Re: band came out with CD

very, very, very good man...i LOVE the vibe of these songs!

Re: band came out with CD

thanks HOSS, I appreciate it. I signed the contract today, just need to fax it to TX and then we'll be able to sell them..FINALLY! I sing on "everyone is waiting" and another song not on the site "King of majesty" a Hillsong United Cover, sounds really good.

Re: band came out with CD

What tracks feature your playing, Jimbo?

What I've heard so far is very impressive. Who wrote the tunes?

Re: band came out with CD

Pretty crazy for a fruitcake to be listening to ya at 3:40 in the morning on Christmas day ain't it?

Re: band came out with CD

the band contained 2 electrics, 1 bass, 1 drum, 1 acoustic, and some different singers.
I played electric on every song, layering different tracks and different parts. I played acoustic on "everyone is waiting" as well.

You are king was written by me
the difference was written by our drummer cody
worthy of all praise was written by cody
praise is awaiting was written by our bass player ken
I belong to you was written by the singer tony herring
everyone is waiting was written by me

yes, there's some nice echo in I belong to you. My favorite part is the huge, reverberated crash cymbal when the drums first come in. Sounds so huge!!
I used a PRS McCarty on the whole CD except for the difference, I used a fender custom shop tele, all through the Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I love it :)

Re: band came out with CD

that's so funny, I haven't played metal in a LONG time. I've fallen back into my musical roots, blues and R&B. You gotta have that groove ya know? :)

Re: band came out with CD

Wow! I am very impressed! Great work -- I seriously like the vibe in these songs. Thanks for sharing! :)

edit: I've listened a lot more on your songs now, and it's great stuff. I'm really digging You Are King. Neat solo too!

Wow, man. Last time I heard YOU was 3 years ago, and this is a world of difference! You have such a good sense of when to let loose and when to back off. I am loving the tones for all the rhythm guitar parts, they sound so well thought out. Did you spend a lot of time tweaking your sound for them? And what gear did you use for the rhythm (clean and dirty)?

You surrounded yourself with such good musicians, it must be a blast to be able to connect with musically adept people!

It's all good bro, God is the one who loves without fail and does the work in salvation ;) love you dude!

BIU:

Yeah, the Lord's really blessed me with different people that I'll be playing with for a while. I totally dig it.

there were two electric players, me and my friend chris. I played a PRS McCarty (stock) through an SKB board with into my Mesa Boogie Mark 4 and sometimes a fender custom shop Tele. Chris played his Koa Tele and a Fender custom shop tele into a board then into a Mesa Boogie DC-5. His primary overdrive came from a TS9 on the clean channel and a route 66 OD. My main overdrive was from the Mesa Mark 4, I totally love it!
I didn't do much tweaking, that was the engineer's main thing later in production. My favorite rhythm tone was in "I Belong to You" however, and lead tone in "You are King"
Playing in a professional worship band really causes you tame down your playing a bit, playing the right "parts" with the best tone, and not overdoing. Not trying to draw attention to you as a musician but to God in all you play. But that's what I love about black churches, you can go nuts in there and it's all good. :)

Now that I look back at everything, I would've involved the clean and light overdrive tones a little bit more, using OD's as boosts to make the sound the best. But you live and you learn. I'm probably gonna go get a mark IV combo and work the heck out of it with my new gear... and then save for some nicer guitars... (I want that McCarty and a nice strat)

Thanks a lot for the feedback fellas!
