I'm not into speed metal too much or metal that involves shouting and throwing your voice into completely unrealistic tones, ala sounding like a bear. I'd say the heaviest I've gone is Boy Hits Car and Inflames. I know this may not be too heavy, but heavy enough for me lol.

Uli Jon Roth and his Sky Guitar. It's 7 strings and I believe has a 6 octave fretboard.:smokin:

You don't like shouting & "throwing your voice into completely unrealistic tones", but you like In Flames?

Also, Tim Mahoney from 311 uses a 7 from time to time.
