Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Dude...........that is good stuff ....totally different than your other stuff.....We should talk about getting together someday because 1)you live close to me and 2) I can play leads all over your grooves:)

good stuff that was a productive day if you ask me.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Sounds similar to an alternative rock band that is pretty popular, can't think of their name right now. Like it

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

The guitar sounds really muted, almost out of tune even (although I know it's not). Weird sound!

But I liked it. If that's an unproductive day to you, you'd explode if you saw my days up at college. Wow!

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

The distorted sound? It sounded massive while I was recording it, but sounded small on the playback. I woke up this morning thinking about it. :p I may end up redoing the dirty tracks.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

That was cool stuff man. The various suckage songs were heavy. I liked 03 and 05 the best. Great stuff.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Thanks!

I redid Digital Belch this morning, trying to get the dirty parts to jump out more. Originally, the left channel was Schecter/81/Uberschall/chorus, & the right was the same, except I switched to the 85 neck pup. I kept the left the same, & redid the right with my Dean, using the bridge Distortion pup & the Engl Powerball amp model (again with chorus added), trying to fatten up the bottom end. I also changed my playing position, moving up & down the neck instead of switching strings, to stay on that big .052 C string. For the crunchy breakdown section, the sounds are the same, except I turned the chorus off for both channels (same as before). The other big difference was I pulled the bass guitar up in the mix for the heavy sections.

The new one has been uploaded in place of the 1st, check it out & tell me if you hear the difference. I like it quite a bit more now.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

really cool to chill out to. Drop that nasty distortion part that comes in imo it totally ruins it! I got the impression the guitar was out of tune almost at the start which was strange!

Keep it up man, great work.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

I think that there's too much chorus in the cleaner parts, that's why it sounds out of tune. Turn the 'depth' knob down.

Really massive distorted sound. Liked it very much.
Sounded like a Stained song to me.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Wasn't sure how I liked it at first, but it quickly grew on me. Then I listened to "No, My Name Name Is Not Edward" and decided I'm definitely playing that one at my wedding! (Seriously, though, that's the first song in a long time that had me doubled-over in laughter and thoroughly impressed at the same time.)

Nice job all around!

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Thanks, I think that one will go down as my greatest work ever! :D

OK - I redid all the guitars tonight for all you out-of-tuners. Much less chorus. What I wanted was a real wet, watery kind of sound for the clean guitar parts; I'm not quite sure how to get it, so any ideas presented may lead to another redo.

I also removed the chorus entirely from the distorted parts, trying to get them to jump out more, & changed the drum patterns up a bit. And I actually tacked on a real ending!

Here's the mp3, until I get it reloaded onto soundclick & myspace: http://www.fiveofanatic.com/random/digitalbelch.mp3

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Clean parts sounded in tune...Much better.
Try this once...Pick your favorite chorus effect (line6) and turn the 'level' knob to 100%, turn the 'depth' knob to 0%. If more chorus effect is needed, turn the 'depth' knob to 5-7% Try this with different chorus effects (assuming that there is more than one). This works great for both clean and distorted tones on my PODxt.

Distorted tones....cut out some of the SuperMegaHigh frequencies--ie. above 6KHz. and add some mids, not alot, just enough to fill out the tone, so that it doesn't sound like a fuzzy blanket over the bass guitar.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

Good advice, thanks. Working on the distorted parts this weekend.

Re: Banged out another one today, tell me whatcha think.

OK, got a new version uploaded at the Soundclick site, or http://www.fiveofanatic.com/random/digitalbelch.mp3 for a direct download. I wound up switching to the 5150 model for both channels, & kept the eq off, using only the amp controls for tone. It's still the Schecter on the left & the Dean on the right.

...only now, though, I'm sitting through my first headphone listen, & I'm clanking all over the place in the crunchy middle part w/the Dean. Gotta redo that.

Nice...The distorted guitar sits much better in the mix. smoother. Sounds like a guitar, rather than the buzzy top end of a highly distorted bass . Mids help alot.
