Bar magnet vs rod magnet

I was just looking over the "specs" chart on the humbuckers, and noticed that the Stag Mag is the only HB that uses a rod magnet, as opposed to a bar magnet.

Can anyone tell me what the significance of this is, if any?

Or, why they did it? Is it just a construction quirk?

it's because it's supposed to sound the "strat-iest" when split, so in order to achieve this, they use rod mags instead of bars.

Thanks Bean . . . and how ironic. I'm sitting here trading back and forth between my Peavey with the Stag Mag's, and my boys Strat, to see how Stratty it sounds. :laugh2:
