The JB model in production isn't the same as the one originally created for Jeff Beck, from what I've heard.

I have an old double cream JB that I took out of a '78 Hamer Sunburst.

Don't know how old it is...it was put in by the previous owner. But it's an old one.

Doesn't sound much differant from any other JB I've had...just looks cooler!

I just read that Steve Stevens interview in my new Musicians Hotline......that magazine must have a way of figuring out who the gearheads are, huh? LOL

What I gather is that Steve, being a gearhead, wanted to try the new/hip thing, and then HE made the proposition to Burger King Pickups:6: about coming up with a signature pickup. From an artist's standpoint, it makes sense because he'll get much more exposure from BK than anyone else. It's not the first time he switched endorsements.....after all he went from Washburn to Gibson (smart move, huh Jolly)?

After about seven incarnations we settled on a pickup that ended up being what the original Seymour Duncan JB was, but without my knowing it beforehand – I remember when I first bought the Duncan JB. I thought it was a fantastic pickup.

So he went full circle? Shoulda just stuck with the tried-and-true JB.

I don't know, I'd love to hear Evan's thoughts on it. He said Warren's "old JB" sounds like a JB.

Many say the JB is a very very picky pup and sounds bad in quite a few guitar, but sounds amazing in quite a few as well.

IMO, sounded amazing in 1 guitar, sounded like butt in about 10 others. Thats the tally I have thus far.
