Baseplate on Neck\Middle pickups?

I'm putting a Baseplate on my Strat's Bridge pickup on Monday and was just curious what a BP would do to the neck and middle pickup tone. Anyone tried this?

Same thing it would do on the bridge: increase output, mids, and bass response.

I have put them on Tele neck pickups to get a little more balance with the bridge pu...there's more highs too.

Ok, I'm confused. How exactly does a baseplate matter to the pickup other than to retain the bobbin, if it's not part of the bobbin as with a typical Strat pickup?

If this is real, and it has a real effect, then wouldn't this settle the question about covers for the same reasons?
