Basic Audio Spooky Tooth Review

I freaking love the Spooky Tooth!! What an awesome pedal.... you should all try one... with the blend knob, the left side is like a fuzzrite and the right side sounds like a superfuzz. All the tones on it are extremely useable.

The low end control and saturation, you can dial in a nice fuzz face, purple haze sound and with everything all the way up you get a big muff type sound out of it. You can do a bunch of the old 60s psychadelic stuff and everything. It's just so versatile and everything sounds good.

Obviously the fuzz face setting I dialed in doesn't sound as good as the sunface I had but the big muff sounds better than the newer ones i have tried and it has so many of it's own tones going on...... I love this thing. It even gets really overdrive like with the saturation, low end almost all the way down. Cleans up almost as well as the sunface.... ahhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very gritty almost break up type sounds......

My favorite setting is setting the gain about halfway, the low end all the way down, the blend about 3:00 (on the superfuzz side) and the volume almost all the way up.

My favorite feature is the in between settings on the blend knob. This pedal is really close to the superfuzz with the knob all the way to the right and very fuzzrite (or at least ventures type music) all the way to the left... all the in between settings and super cool sounds I haven't heard before. LOVE THEM. This pedal has a really versatile range...... like I said, almost breakup to full on superfuzz where the amp feels like it is about to blow up.

I really dig this pedal... I've always felt fuzz was just an add on or a cool effect to use every once in a while but with this pedal I could see someone using this pedal (with how versatile it is) all the time or even creating their own sound with it.

Love it!!

Thanks Basic Audio!!

This pedal has caught my eye since you posted about it before. I am very interested in this one.

Can you tell me more about your associated gear -- guitar/amp/cab -- and what style of music you play?

I have been using an SG Classic into various SS amps my brother/sister/mom own (they all play guitar). I recently sold all my tube amps and I have a Bassman on the way.

Sounds amazing. I can only imagine it sounds better through a good amp.

Man, I would love to play this one with my SG R-1/Bumbox combo!
