bass cabs w/ rectifier

so I was running my dual rectifier at 8 ohms into a Fender Bassman 410 bass cab (500 watts peak handling at 8 ohms) and I'm wondering if I should be weary of cranking it.. I know it's unsafe to play a bass guitar through a guitar enclosure, but is it also unsafe to play a guitar amp at loud volumes through a 4 by 10 bass cab?

what I was more worried about though was whether the horn for bass highs would blow.. btw it sounded great; the tone was mean, heavy and very tight bass response, but not an applicable tone in a band setting

You won't hurt the cab, the Recto doesn't put out enough power.

Turn the horn off though, horns hate distortion.

Yup... they tend to blow VERY fast if you use them with a distorted signal :)

does this include a distorted BASS signal?.. because my bassist uses a boss distortion pedal for a fuzz tone every now and then.. I don't want him to blow his horn
