bass guitar too loud?

OK, I can't stand weak/low-in-the-mix bass guitar (as was the case for almost every 80s metal band). But as a result, I often go too loud.

Is the bass mixed too loud here? [first song on my soundclick, the "work in progress"]

thanks for listening. yes, it's a tune that's been on the shelf for many months now, just got around to bass. solos are next.

sounds good to be me bro. Nice and rich. On some thin sounding metal sounds I'll remaster them by editing the EQ and giving it a bass boost.

I like bass up in the mix as well. I think that sounds good, but it might could come down just a tad. Oh yeah...jam out man!!

I'd bring it down a bit unless you are showcasing the bass line.

A good way to set levels is to turn the volume way down and listen for a good balance.

thanks y'all! I think I shall turn it down a tad - not showcasing the bass (it's just kinda mimicing the guitars anyway), but I'd like peeps to hear it all the same.
