Bass head + Guitar Cab

So here's the deal. I have a Ampeg PF350 bass head that I don't use much. If I plug my POD XT Live in to the return of the ampeg and then plug the bass head in to the 4 ohm input of my 4x12 guitar cab, is this a problem? Off the top of my head I don't think it would be because I'm essentially using just the power amp section of the bass head, right? I'm just wondering because I have a friend that comes over to jam with us once in a while and instead of him lugging a bunch of gear, he can use the spare bass head and cab I have laying around.

Check whether the send/return loop on the bass head is series, parallel or switchable between the two.

Guitar pre-amp device into solid state power amp stage into guitar cabinet should work without the sound being unduly messed up.
