Bass Kit build

In the last hour of the memorial day sale, I bought this bad boy, a paulownia bodied P-Bass kits. I guess this can shed some light on what these kits are for those looking into them in the future.

Well it came in today, and I'm already pretty happy with my buy. The wood has a decent grain to it, all the parts are there, and the frets look pretty level and even. The only disappointments (so far) are how cheap the pups feel, and the mini pots on the thing.

So far I'll I have done is sort the hardware and sand the body and neck with 150 grit hand paper. I'll hit it with some 300+ grit paper after I run to Home Depot.

Tomorrow I should be able to head to home Depot for 300+grit sand paper and stain.

Re: Bass Kit build

yeah some stain would definitely make things pop. for the neck i think you should stick to a satin finish, if that's your thing.

Yea, maybe just a clear satin finish on the neck like I have on my strat.

What about the "vintage tint"? Maybe that's a possibility

Re: Bass Kit build
