I'm a guitarist, but I bought a bass a few years back for recording. It is a $200 can. (about $ 150 us) Jay Turser 4 string P-Bass. Although it is a cheapy, a bassist buddy borrowed it for a gig and didnt have any major complaints.
Question is - is it worth putting a new pick-up in it? Would it be a big enough improvement to make it worth the cost? It will mainly be used for hobbist home recording.
