Bass players..... what bridges?

Got a couple of bass projects and looking for recommendations.
Primarily around the string through/top load debate.
I've already commited to my purchases, actually got them:

72 Tele bass with with Schaller roller, top load bridge
Jazz bass with Gotoh new version 201 both mount system
Tele Esquire bass with vintage Wilkinson top load brass saddles

What are your thoughts?

Cheers, Will

Re: Bass players..... what bridges?

My brother is a fan of the Schaller 3D. If I had known that there was a dual-mount version of the Gotoh 201, I would have bought one (or two or three). The Wilk works. I sometimes think that steel saddles would be better.

I fitted a Gotoh 201 onto an inexpensive Yamaha bass guitar, not for cosmetic or sustain/tone reasons but to get a better balance when worn on a strap. It does sound better for it though!

On other occasions, I have found that the cheap POS stamped steel Fender item is the right sound for certain instruments. e. g. My 78/79 fretless Precision. I tried a Badass II but it would not adjust low enough. It was out by, you've guessed it, the height of a fret.

My Fender reissue 75 Jazz Bass has a Badass II. It looks right. It sounds right. Good enough for Geddy and Marcus. Good enough for me.
