Bass preamp dilemma - need advice please

Hi,

I have a fender Jazz Elite 2016 with N4 pickups. It has a faulty PCB, and before I purchase a replacement one, I'm looking at alternatives.

Can you recommend a replacement preamp/combination to provide 1. volume, 2. a smooth blend/balance and 3. separate bass, mid and treble controls?

Side mount jack.

The new Fender Jazz Elite has a very narrow blend band, most of the time it's either one, both or the other. Poor design in my opinion. Does your preamp recommendation provide for a full range (buffered?) blend?

If there is any modification required to the pickups please also advise.

Thanks in advance

The only buffered blend I'm aware of is the EMG Active Balance control; they make a version for passive pickups AFAIK. You'd need to pair it with their BQ control for bass, treble, and sweep-able midrange. As a bonus it offers four center frequency settings for the treble control. I typically set mine @ 3.5Khz instead of the 6 or 7Khz most other preamps use. I find the lower frequency center to be a lot more useful as I can roll it back for a vintage tone or boost highs for extra cut.
