Bass speaker cab

I've been doing bass work for my band recently and I need a decent speaker cab.

I'm currently using a galien Kruger 400B bass head (I think its 280 watts or something, it's old, but it sounds good). I was thinking 2x10 or something, just for a nice tight sound.

What do you guys think? My price range is 200-350 bucks-ish. I also need to repair some PA gear, and do maintenance on my '63 blonde fender bandmaster so cash is somewhat limited. I just want to know what you guys have experience with so i can get some first hand info on what's good.

As far as cabs... it depends on what kind of sound you're after. If it were me, I'd get a 1x15 cab. Preferably a speaker rated to 400w. I like 15s.

Some people like 10s. Not as deep, but more punchy and more middy. A 2x10 would be a nice cab for that head for that kind of sound.

Is this an older head or a newer one (with a fan)?

its an old head, it's even been to montreaux jazz for god's sake.
