Bass Tones: P-Bass Pickup And Jazz Bazz Neck Pickup

I know I’m opening a super old can of worms, but do you all hear differences between a P-Bass pickup and a neck Jazz pickup (and I’m talking about all iterations: vintage, hot, stacked, staggered J’s, active, you name it).

P pickups have wide, squat bobbins with more wire wound on them. It’s a fatter smoother sound than a J. Plus they are hum canceling.

I had a bass with two P pickups instead of a P/J. That was a great tone.
