Basslines hum

I've got a lot of noise, when I touch polepieces of the pickup.
I've got PJ setup on my bass (SJB and SPB 3 Quater pounds).
I've tried to ground polepieces down once (p-bass pickup only) by winding bare wire around them and soldering it to ground, but pickup remained silent until I cut that grounding off.
What's wrong? Does anybody know?

Update:
Well, it fact my bass wasn't PJ one, I have upgraded it with J-bass pickup myself. When I used only P-bass pickup (oneV, oneT controls) there was no hum coming from my amp if I touched those magnets. Hum appeared when only after upgrade.

Re: Basslines hum

welcome to the forum!!

you could try running the two coils in parallel but i have no idea how that would sound. it would be less powerful but ive never tried any split p in parallel to know how it reacts.

i would try flipping the hot and ground wires to see if that quiets down the pole pieces

It didn't work out. I've flipped them but still one of the coils produces noise. I've tried to flip wires on coils but that problem remains.

How to connect coils parallel? I don't know where winding starts and where it ends and got no idea how to wire them parallel..
