I just picked up a Squire Active Jazz Bass V and it;s a great bass, it sound ok, but the preamp/pickups don't really have much tonal options. Has anyone tried the Quarter Pounder 5's?? I have the 4 string version in my other bass and I love them. What about active Basslines pickups and preamp??

They both (qp and active preamp) get rave reviews everywhere.
Check out you tube for a 5 string qp demo. awsome!
I too, am condidering qp's and a 2 band eq for my squier p bass special.
Good luck!

I was looking for the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder 5 pickup video on Youtube, but I couldn't find it.

Wont the pickups sound strange then?? Whats the big difference between the bridge and neck pickup??

the wind, I think. The pickups on my epi lp bass are identical, yet because of position, they sound different. just measure (if you already havent) the pickups on yours, and compare them to duncan specs. You could always use 2 different neck p/u's I.E.: vintage neck-neck q.p.neck-bridge. ect.

I'm reading now that bridge and neck pickups are made humbucking when working together so two neck pickups will hum more :/
