Basswood Jackson Kelly?

Re: Basswood Jackson Kelly?

Pointy Explorers are a not-so-secret desire of mine, however at the very moment I am more heavily drooling for one of the two Schecter special editions:
C-1 FR SPECIAL EDITION
Blackjack SLS Avenger FR-S

I've wanted an upper-end C1 with a Floyd for almost 6 years now and this one ticks all the right boxes:
Passive setup (not sure I'd keep THOSE pickups but when has this ever stopped us right?), Ebony board and a 3-way switch (the one thing I didn't care for on all the other C-1s...)
And then there's the BLUE Avenger with an FR, that just tickles my aesthetics soooo much, ticks all the above boxes as well plus it has offset dots, as you might have seen from my guitars, I like those the best.
it's just that it costs an extra 300 USD for sth I'd never use (the sustainiac)...

They used to be alder.
thats what I figured!

Hence the EMG's.

meaning to color the tone to make up for the basswood?
