AFAIK, the Dual Showman was developed for D!ck Dale, who wanted a very loud, very clean amp.
I think most of these amp can sound very good, but some need a little more work than others. I favor the Bassman, because it has the right combination of power, tone, and gain ... some need very little tweaking. (Also, I have a Bassman

still, you can find players who will tell you they got killer tone with a BandMaster or Tremolux.
