Battle Of The V's

Re: Battle Of The V's

My favorite is the one I own: Ibanez V-blade, the VBT-700.

Wasn't Sam Totman using that before he made the STM? I heard they stopped making them because people thought they were copying a Dean shape

Re: Battle Of The V's

why?
The Washburn because it looks "vulgar" IMO,,(now is that really a good thing? lol),,,,and because they're insanely nice from that series and era.

The Carvin looks cool also, but it's really the ergonomics I like with it. When your holding them the upper-wing doesn't hang way out like most other Vs.

The Concore or its more popular name Randy Rhodes. Overall not a huge fan of Vs. Though I have played and owned a V style guitar for a very long time. But thay now gets less play.

My Dean 1982 US V is pretty rad too.

I'm a total pointy guitar fanatic. I've got some classics in the arsenal, American Strat, nice Raven West Tele, Ibby Les Paul and so on but for what I do most of the time, Vs are the sh!t.

Re: Battle Of The V's

Why? On a technical level-I prefer the unique neck joint transition/height of fretboard on these and pickups. On a fanboy level- Michael Schenker's best work ever was recorded with one (though re-painted and repaired many times through 1982-ish).

KK Downing too- the legend is both Michael and KK wanted the same specific medallion V in a london shop in 1974. They had two and one was the monster and other was really good. KK got the money together first, and Michael got the "lesser" of the two.

Re: Battle Of The V's

Rhodes is best; for some reason the "shoulder" on Gibson style Vs annoys me on a visual level.

But these intrigue me:

Re: Battle Of The V's

I really like the King V shape. I wouldn't mind having one except for the 24 frets.

Re: Battle Of The V's

I'm not very particular of shape, as long as it's hairy
