Anyone have experience with these pedals? I'm looking for a kind of Brain May/Queen kind of solo tone and I'm wondering if this pedal will work for that purpose? I would probably end up using it only as a solo boost so would it give me that kind of tone for lead playing?

If it won't do it has anyone got any other pedal that will do what I'm looking for?

Re: BBE Freq Boost

I've recenty bought a Treble Booster myself, with the possible intention of using it as a volume booster for solos.

I never realised they have asmuch grunt behing them as they do! It's actually too much to be used as a volume boost, as mine always seems to push the amp too far into Overdrive for it to work.

They do sound great pushing an already driven valve amp though!

I recently used mine on 'Only Human' off my bands new EP (www.myspace.com/forthisdaymusic) just incase you're interested :)

Re: BBE Freq Boost

Thanks for the reply mate, I enjoyed that song a lot, nice guitar tone :bigthumb:

What treble booster pedal did you use? The BBE one or something else?

Cheers :)

Thanks mate :D

The pedal I used was a Sharp FX 'Retro Boost' Treble Booster, which is apparently a handmade copy of a Germanium Transistor Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster.

On Ebay UK they're about £45 new with postage, but mine only cost me about £13 as I got 1 2nd hand and also traded a cheap Phaser pedal for it :D
