BC Rich NJ Classic series

Re: BC Rich NJ Classic series

The 2004 series we bolt on necks with mahogany bodies and maple necks and ebony fret boards. Of course for $500 the electronics sucked. They are pretty decent guitars.

The 2005 five series is Neck thru with some mahogany like wood and maple neck thru. Same electronics which arent bad but they're no Duncans. Again it has ebony fret board.

How are the necks on them?

Re: BC Rich NJ Classic series

I checked out a Classic Bich a couple weeks ago. The neck is by no means chunky but isn't Wizard skinny, either. The pickups seemed okay but not stellar. The finish seemed okay with a pretty maple veneer.

The downside is that it's one of those guitars where you probably need to run the racks to find a really good one. The one I played had fret level issues and wasn't the first neck-thru Rich that I'd seen with that problem. :( I'm willing to buy a value-priced guitar that's in need of a setup but I draw the line at fretwork.

Hmm...thanks for the heads up...Im with you on that, a set up is no big deal, but I don't want tohave to deal with fret work right out of the box.

Anybody else?

Re: BC Rich NJ Classic series

I've played 1 or 2 BC Riches.. I'm not sure which series they were, but the necks were fast, action was smooth and I had no fret issues.. And I have a feeling they were the cheapest BC riches around. So I have positive experiences from them.
