Re: BC Rich thread for everyone. Click on it anyway.

Too many stock photos in this thread. This is my USA made Warlock... It has a combination of features that ive never seen on any other BC Rich. Yeah the airbrushing is a bit lame but eh... its very stereotypical of the era

Are you sure this a USA cause the headstock looks exactly like the 80s Platinum guitars which were made overseas. It could be the line of guitars that were made overseas but put together in the states but with it having a Kahler that could have been added by someone, but if you bought it new then i'll just shut up.:1::friday:

Actually its not exactly like the platinums you have to put them side by side and look close. If you dig around you will find other custom shop ones with that made in the USA logo on back of the headstock.

I dont know a ton about its history ive owned it since 1992. The guy I got it from said he bought it from Neil Moser. Moser supposedly was working on it cause he had built it orginally then whoever owned it never paid for the work so Neil unloaded it. Ive never verified this story though. When I bought it I bought 2 other Mosers that was supposedly part of the same deal.

The platinums ive seen have never had those inlays nor do they have flat radius neck with ebony fingerboards. The ones ive seen have different electronics routes. This one has the route thats for large electronics suite the USA mades got sometimes. I dont think ive ever seen a single knob platinum. Its also very definitely mahogany as a large portion of the body cavity didnt get painted.

So either its a US made deal or its a platinum pig that someone spent alot of effort putting lipstick on. (and it really is a pig its over 10.5 pounds)

If you have any other insight to it I would welcome it.

I saw the made in the US on the back, i don't think it is a Platinum or NJ the reason i was thinking it was foreign was because i played a gig where a guy had a Bich which had the same headstock size as my 80s Platinum Gunslinger when i asked him about it he said it was US Production Series which were Korean made kits assembled in the US. I'm not saying yours is, the bottom line is if it sounds good then who cares.

Here's a Bc Rich history page i found.
