Oh man, this is rich.

'83 Corvus, NOT the original owner, not the original bridge pickup, not the original case (or even a Gibby-branded one), and it's got "
... a couple of chips in the paint on the front of the guitar as well as light scratches on the front and back. There are a some groove lines below the paint on the back."

...and the guy has a BIN of 5 grand.

That's what I don't get about people like this - you have what amounts to basically the least desirable "vintage" Gibson, which I've yet to see sell for more than 500 bucks, and some clueless guy things that because it's kind of old that it must be extremely valuable and rare.... :eyecrazy:

Cheers,PJ

That's an ugly guitar anyway... I wouldn't pay that much money for a single guitar.
I could buy so much guitar stuff for 5,000$ or...
Just think... A Marshall Bluesbreaker and a Gibson Custom Les Paul and I'm set!

Re: Beat-Up Gibson Corvus for $5,000 !!??!!??

You could buy any number of better and more desirable, collectible Gibsons for the same money - guaranteed.

Yeah I just thought of pacman when I saw this. What an ugly guitar.

It's even funnier, if you can actually remember the Circus Magazine ad for them back in 83.

It was a guy with a mullet, headband, and sleeveless T shirt!
hahahaha

The can opener strikes again, eh? Haven't thought about it like a Pac-man before, but now that I look at it, it could be a Pac-man with a tummy tuck. So I'd say it was keeping up with the times, or it prefigured them. All it needs now is some Botox to get rid of the groove lines in the finish.

That guy lives like a mile from where I grew up. I could have my Dad pick it up for me , and save the shipping. Now THAT'S a deal.

Oh geez, I remember that ad, ha ha ha. The one in the auction is hideous, but it would have fit into the late 70's early 80's new wave movement perfectly. I like the look of the one in the ad, just not the shape if you know what I'm trying to say. At least it's a small mullet and not the halfway down your back type.
