I just picked this up off the bay for $125!!! I don't have a whole lot of experience with Blackstar amplifiers but I've been watching a bunch of videos and demos on the HT-5R this morning & it seems like a pretty cool little head! I'm a lot more into smaller 5W-30W amps these days, I like being able to crank it up and find that sweet spot without the cops showing up...
Even my 15W amps are a bit too loud to do that unless it's mid day and nobody's home in the building we live in? I have a 40W Egnater & a 50W Night Train but I almost never use them because in order to get them singing you have to get them speakers moving some air!!! They get used @ band practice but because I'm so used to using the smaller ones that I've just been using a mic & a large homemade isolation box that will acomadate my AC-30 and TS15 cabs...
Anyway, it's supposed to be in perfect working order & it certainly better be! If its not I will be dragging this dude through the mud. The last two used amps I bought online needed to be shipped out to the either the manufacturer or a tech for service & I'm not doing it again! I bought used to save money and by the time I was done paying for the work & the shipping I could have bought the amps new & some pedals to go with them, ridiculous!!!
