Behringer B1 Condenser Mic

anyone own one of these? of course i'm a recording newbie, so i stroll into the local store and ask about recording. i was dissuaded from the sm57 that i've been told so much about because it apparently needs to be right next to an amp. for all around recording in a room, a condenser mic was suggested. i've always thought this behringer brand was crap, but i've only been acclamated with their amps and modelers. i don't know if they make good mics, but the reviews ahve been pretty good.

any thoughts? anyone know of a better condenser mic around $125?

Re: Behringer B1 Condenser Mic

Behringer = ****. Never let anything in your audio patch pass through one.

Why does the SM57 being right near the amp dissuade you?

For that price, look for a used SE M1C or Audio Technica AT3035.
