Haters of the mentioned brand is not asked to post unless they can give an objective review of the product(s).

Has anyone tried any of the Behringer pedals? Which have you tried? What was the quality of the sound?

I own a few: Ultra phase shifter, Bass chorus and i have owned the Vintage phaser and the ultra flanger. I'm waiting for the new tube pedals to come

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

I use a TS clone (the green vintage OD). Works like a charm. Or rather, like a tube screamer. Downfalls would be kinda cheap parts and no true bypass, but guess what: I don't care.

I didn't know they were making tube pedals. I'll probably get one.

edit: I just popped over to their site. very interesting. two tube pedal models, one simple, one beefy. they end in 999, which is very similar to the ibanez tube king model number (i think theirs was tk999). if they are the same circuit, that is a great. i use a tube king from back in the day, and it has a beautiful OD with a ton of gain available. maxxon sells a similar unit for an arm and a leg. like the cost of a small tube amp basically.

Friends dont let friends put anything Behringer in their signal path. But i have a tremelo pedal and its simply fab! Sounds good to me. And it was sooooo very very very cheap (like the cost of 3 sets of strings!

When I first heard about they're boss ripoff pedals, I was quite excited. Being as I need a Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo, and Some sort of wah.

But when I went to try some out, Me and the sales guy were amazed when we Went through about 20 of them And every single one we took out of the packageing Was Broken. Straight outta the packageing Not a single one of them worked correctly. Might a just been that One stores shippment. But I dunno, I had the same problem a few weeks later when I decided to try some out at a different shoppe in aurora, Not all were broken this time, But Nearly all of them Had some sort of issue. Either one of the controlls did absolutely Nothing, They stomp switch Didn't work (pedal wouldn't go off), Or The jacks connections were so loose that BREATHEING made the signal cut out.

Needless to say, I am still without a phaser, flanger, trem, or wah.

That said. when the Pedals DID work, they sounded decent. Lots of Hiss and hum on certain ones (mainly the trem), But thats to be expected on any budget pedal (the dano pedals from a few years back had the same issues with hiss and hum). For $20 they're alright, Provided they work. Personally I'de rather save up and Spend $100 on a pedal that I know will last for 10 years (or more), rather than Spend $20 on a pedal that might only last a Month (or maybe a little longer).

But you could also look at it liek renting a movie before you buy it. You pay $20 for a phaser, It'll give you a few weeks/months to Mess with it and decide if you even NEED a phaser. If ya discover you Do need a phaser, then You can go buy a good one when the Behringer breaks. Rather than Spending $100 (or more) To buy a good one, Only to find out you have no real use for it.

that's it. i wanted to see what the circuit sounded like without spending a bunch on a boutique one. if i want a really souped up one i'd probably get a jeckyl and hyde, but it's served its purpose.

Low_fidelity2100:

I have seen the total opposite of what you have been thru, i have never tried or seen any broken Behringer pedal! No hiss or hum from my or any other persons pedals i have tried/heard.

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

Well ,i tried some of them ,and bought the EQ.
They work fine (average ,not good). They do the job.The eq is well if you use it behind the amp thru the FX loop.Since they ment to be used with hands. If you push them with your feet ,you're going to buy a new pedal in a month!

The Dirt boxes are not bad. They sound very similar to the originals. And they are not bad.Nice gadgets to play with for a while. But not a companion for a long time. They have typical Behringer problems. They sound average or good ,but don't last long.

But if my objective view is negative doesn't that make me a hater?

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

I had the EQ as well... Pretty good sound till of course in 3 weeks the output jack was really wonky and I returned it. Never got another anymore.

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

i've got a behringer tu 100 on my pedalboard......that's a tuner so i cannot give any points to it soundwise..............i can say though that the pedal does not seem as sturdy as the boss pedals...........

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

Are the vintage phasers the same build as the other pedals, and how does it sound?

Re: Behringer pedals *Haters keep out!!!*

A buddy of mine bought thier reverb pedal. We were at a local store and plugged the reverb pedal into a 66 Deluxe and fiddled with for about 10-15 minutes, after he got the thing dialed in I couldn't tell when he was using the pedal and when he was using the Deluxes reverb. I was impressed as the pedal was only $35.00 and my buddy was very happy as he has a Bassman and wanted reverb without breaking the bank.
