Belated NGD - PRS Content!

ExplorersRock

X-Files Duckbucker
So I ordered this guitar around October 16th, and after about 4 months, she showed up at the store. I picked her up about 4 weeks ago or so and just haven’t gotten around to doing a post on it. I special ordered the color, Eriza Verde. It’s a Custom 22 with Pattern Regular neck and a tremolo. The pickups are the stock 57/08s and they sound truly amazing! Incredible! They remind me of the WLH set. Not a 1-to-1 comparison but they are similar in style. Playability was outstanding right out of the box. Seriously, it was built the week earlier and no one touched it until I got there and it was still in tune! The action is perfect and the feel and tone are just incredible. I don’t think she even needs a set-up, which I’ve never said before. I can’t wait for Ace’s Ultimate Axe so I can submit this one. Enjoy the pics!

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

Beautiful! I love green guitars, and PRS seems to really know how to pull them off. So much jealousy here.

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

Green guitars are underrated. I sold my Emerald Green Cu24 last year but I still have a green EBMM. :)

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

Beautiful. Great color choice. I mean, I love sunburst, but I also like other colors over a flame top, including a tasteful shade of green.

And there is something magical about the feel and playability of those PRS Maryland guitars. They seem to know how to make the action, the fret work, the neck profile, everything related to the setup, feel just right. I've got a McCarty with a bound fretboard where they even rounded off the binding to make the edges of the fretboard feel smooth and rounded.

I plugged in a Single Cut with the 57/08 humbuckers once, and was really impressed with the sweet vintage tone.

I hope you enjoy it. I think you got a great guitar.

I love the way PRS does brilliantly colored tops with plain backs. It's a great representation of how underneath the pretty, there's some serious solid tone.

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

Just spent the last 4 days playing a conference with my 07 Custom 24 and it all ways knocks me out live.
Congrats bro shes stunning!

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

PRS makes some beautiful guitars. I also like how they do "non-standard" colors (blue, green, tie-dye, etc) colors and somehow they never look "cheesy" or like some stoned guy did them. Enjoy your NGD!

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

That color is pure secks! More green guitars to the world, I say!

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

Wow, love it!

I'll be home tomorrow afternoon to take delivery. :D

I agree Daan, PRS exotic colors are all pretty amazing.

Re: Belated NGD - PRS Content!

I love that shade of green and also the light mahogany back. Looks like a great piece of wood.

It's interesting to see the tiny changes PRS has made to his classic design over the years. Everything from moving away from the rotary knob, to the tuning peg styles, bird material, knob colors, and the many PRS pickups now available. But the original body design and graphite nut remain a constant.
