Plug into #1 inputs (bright and normal channels) of my Tweed Twin to bridge the channels. Bright channel volume at about 3, normal at 4 for cleans, I didn't try it with higher volumes and real break up yet, but bottom line is, I'll never play without it again! Gives a much more 3 dimensional tone, more lively, not as muted sounding. Just great cleans, its pretty amazing for such a tiny thing. If you have a tweed, GET ONE NOW!

yeh, the instruction manual for my tubeworks amp reccoments plugging a Y cable into both hi and lo imputs for more gain, it actually fattened up the tone beyond my liking in my amp

Re: Best $5 I've Ever Spent

Isn't the tweed twin a 4-hole amp? Two inputs on each channel? You could just jump 'em together with a 6" patch cable...

It won't load down the guitar pickups like the passive Y-split you bought...should open the tone up a good bit, highs come back... get more channel interaction too.

Can't do it that way on a tweed twin due to a phasing issue in the preamp. The preamp is done differently in these than in the tweed Bassman.

Guitar Player Magazine did a review of the 1954 Re-issue Strat and the '57 Tweed Twin when they first came out and mentioned this quirk.

The Y-cable is the way to go on the tweed Twin.

Popular cable with a lot of my customers - especially those with 4-input Marshall's or Marshall inspired boutique amps like Germino.

Could I do the samething w/the new champ 600? It only has a hi and lo inputs.

Yes, I tried it with my Gibson GA5 as well and it gave this real fat, raw, fuzzy distortion tone with a ton of balls (best band I could compare it to would be something very dirty sounding like the white stripes sorta vibe). It sounds like full volume with the knob half way and going higher brings you into some insane dirt territory, cool for those looking for those garageband type tones. Pretty cool to experiment with.
